First day of the Jessica Sprague holiday album class. We have 2 assignments, actually 3 with the bonus!

Assignment 1 -
list goals for this class
1. To be more organized so I can enjoy the holidays more.
2. Give to underprivileged families to make their holdays better.

Assignment 2 -
Commit to spending 20 minutes each day in December working on these class activities.

I'll be putting together a hybrid album for the class! Will probably use 8 x 8 size so I can do the printing at home.

First is my “Vintage Spring” kit, combining lots of pretty springy elements and papers with a vintage-y look.

Then I have a birthday kit called “Make a Wish” which I created to do layouts from my Mom’s birthday party. Lots of balloons and cake, etc!

This kit is called “Indian Summer” and has such nice early fall colors and elements I know you’ll love it –check it out!

We're all very excited! The new Keep It Simple Scraps site will officially open on April 1st! Cheryl has been super busy transferring all the info over for the new store, and the designers have been like little bees putting kits and stuff into the shop. Sad News!

The Scrapping Garden, which has been my online home since it opened almost 3 years ago, will be closing it's doors on March 19th. It has been a struggle for some time now for the owners to make ends meet, what with the terrible economy plus so many sites opening almost every day, and it just had to come to an end. I'm really going to miss all of my friends at TSG, the crops and challenges, and most of all the chats where we have had so much fun! But something else is in the works, so I have high hopes that this will be another door opening for me, as well as for the faithful members at the site. More to come ......

Sorry it' s been so long since I posted but life happens! With my Mom in the nursing facility and me with the flue and then bronchitis, it's been a stressful month. But I'm better now and getting back in the swing of things. I have a brand new kit in the store called Spring Breeze and boy, am I looking forward to spring! Here is the ad for the kit;

I'm working on an add-on for Spring Breeze that I hope to have in the store this week. I also made an alpha that coordinates with the kit which I'm giving as a posting bonus for the ABC Challenge this month. So I should have you covered for your springy layouts!

I now have 4 members in my Creative Team; Tina (teenybop), Dawn (Keiki), Sheri (fanceysdesignz). and terrista. I hope to have them set up in the sidebar soon with a link to their gallery at TSG, so you can see their beautiful work!

Sorry that I haven't posted here for a whil, but my Mom being in rehab for her broken hip is taking an incredible amount of time! The good news is - I have 3 additional member of my CT, and I have a brand new kit in the store. More about all that tomorrow!

Creative Team

I've struggled with advertising ever since I became a designer and finally decided I have to do something about it. So I decided the first thing is to gather a creative team who will post layouts made from my kits at TSG as well as other sites. I will also want them to make stickits occasionally to use as bonuses, freebies, as well as to use in my ads.

So I'm really pleased that Tina Bentley (aka teenybop61) has agreed to become my first team member! Tina and I have worked together before so I know this will be a great working realtionship! Here is Tina's bio so you can all get to know here;

Bio:My name is Tina Bentley aka teenybop61. I began hybrid scrapbooking about 6 years ago. I have even taught classes in our youth groups and at senior camp (senior citizens that is). I began digi scrapping about 2 years ago and I am hooked. I love taking photos with my digital camera and I love the computer so this is a perfect hobby for me. I have learned alot at scrapping garden which is my absolute favorite site. I also hang out at a few other places. I am a gallery moderator at scrappinggarden last year and became a CT for Linda Cumberland and Lise Lotte Sunesen. I look forward to being a CT for Pat Hall. I have one daughter who turns 21 this year and my husband and I have been married 22 1/2 years. I belong to the Salvation Army as does most of my family. I love crafts of all kinds, except knitting, I love to read and sing.

I will be posting some of Tina's work here on the blog, so be looking for it!

Happy Belated New Year!

Hi guys,
It's been a while since I've gotten to post here. My Mom fell on Dec. 13th and broke her hip, had surgery and is now in rehab. She's doing really well and is now walking with a walker and really getting around! Did I tell you she's 92? She'll be 93 in March and until she fell she walked every day which I'm sure has helped in her recovery. The problem is, she has Alzheimer's, and will probably end up in an assisted-living facility. The only other option we've been given is to bring her home with 24/7 skilled-nursing care. She has absolutely no awareness of safety issues, and will be in constant danger of falling again. She's very independent and doesn't realize that anything's wrong with her, so she thinks she can do anything she could do 30 years ago.

So wish me luck - we are looking into facilities right now, and there are 4 of us children, and we all have our own preference! My sister is a retired nurse and I will probably go along with what she wants to do, which will be 2 votes to 1 and 1, lol! But truly, my brothers will come around.

I hope to be able to post more regularly since things have settled down some with her being in rehab and doing good. I will post again tonight or tomorrow. I have some new products in my store that I'll show you and I have some exciting news also!

New Kit!

My newest kit will be in the TSG store on Tuesday! It's called Genuine Tomboy and was made with my niece Lauren in mind. Lauren is a 4th generation tomboy - her Mom, her aunts and her grandmother were all tomboys. There could have been more before that but I don't know about them! This kit has a different color palette than most girl or tomboy kits that I've seen. The coral and blue colors are 2 of Lauren's favorites so they were the beginning of the kit. Well, my summer cold turned into full-blown bronchitis so I've been sick for almost 3 weeks. So basically, I haven't gotten too much designing or scrapping done. But the 2 kits in my grab bag have been put in the store since the grab bag sale is over. And I had started 2 other kits before I got sick , so they too are in the store. I will post the ad I sent to the yahoo groups with all 4 newbies in it as soon as I can find what I did with the url! LOL!!!!

Dang, just when everything's going along great - WHAM! I was moving along keeping up with the various pieces that I need to finish by the 15th, and then last night I got a sore throat and this morning I started coughing - I have the dreaded SUMMER COLD! I feel like I've been run over by a semi truck and I can't keep my mind (or my eyes) focused on designing. One good thing though, I did finish everything for Joli for the Sept. Featured Designer spot. So I'm gonna send that all to her and wait until morning and hope I feel better then.

I'm working on my GrabBag and I'll finish that first (since I only have 2 days to get it done!). Then I'll tackle the September Mega Kit! And I need to upload 2 kits before the 20th - oh well, some weeks it's just busy!busy!busy!
